Harley – January, 2009

Harley, Kevin, and I are doing well. We have gone almost two weeks with out an accident in the house. Harley is loving his dog door and enjoying the freedom to go in and out as he pleases.

We are taking him up to meet Simba, my parent’s retriever, this weekend. He has already hung out with Kevin’s cousin’s retriever a few weeks ago. We finally got Harley playing with toys. He will only go for the soft squeaky toys, and loves the long skinny loofah dogs. He can’t really scare anyone with a stuffed animal hanging from his mouth.

Kevin, Harley and I are going on walks/runs every day, he has lost about 7-10 pounds, and is looking lean and fit. He even has some back leg muscle. Kevin and I wish that we could loose that much weight so quickly. We have learned that if he doesn’t get walked for an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening he either gets into trouble while we are sleeping, or wakes us up at 3 or 4 in the morning to play. We try to keep him as active as possible when we are home, and I think we have gotten into a good routine.

Thank you for all of your help!
