Lacey – December, 2015

“With a very sad and heavy heart I am posting the loss of our dear and much loved fur family member Lacey. We met Lacey in 2007 and fell instantly in love with her. Fur brother Leo (boxer alum crossed in 2014) approved too and home with us she came. Lacey was recovering from surgery to remove an embedded collar and it did not slow her down. Leo and Lacey were always together.

“Lacey was an escape artist. Any door or gate open was free game. Most of the time she would bolt five houses down the street to her boyfriend’s house. Sometimes down to the school to play with the kids. She soon learned where her food, shelter and love came from and decided it was better to stay home!

“Our hearts are heavy tonight. She had surgery on a quickly growing cancerous tumor. After recovering well at home for a few days she took a turn towards the bridge. We are thankful she went peacefully.

“Thank you Lacey for all the funny, goofy and loving memories. Our home will miss your wiggly butt and unconditional love.

“We sit tonight looking at our Christmas tree, missing our baby girl. Our home is missing a boxer tonight. Rusty (adopted 2014) is holding down the couch for you Lacey.”
