Heath is a very fun-loving boy with a lot of energy. He loves the water and playing outside or with you. Heath is an outdoorsman kind of dog: willing to go out, get wet and muddy, chase dragonfly shadows, hang out at the bbq, and just be a part of a human’s life. He also enjoys scent searching. Heath is a very energetic dog and will need 2+ hours of vigorous exercise daily.

Heath is very well mannered, great on walks, and house broken. He gets a little nervous when crated, so we’re working on that. Similarly, Heath is a little anxious on car rides but he’s learning to calm down and enjoy them. With the help of boundaries, rules, limits, and a consistent schedule, Heath is learning how to relax, and feel secure and reassured.

Heath gets along well with the female boxer in the house but is not so sure about the male boxer, so we’re keeping them separated and he probably won’t do well in a household with an existing male dog. He hasn’t been introduced to cats while in our care, but has seen outside cats and showed a great deal of interest in them, which means he probably wouldn’t be good in a house with cats. Heath hasn’t met any children yet either, but due to his exuberance and size, he’d do best in a home with children 12 and up.

Heath is a diamond in the ruff with a very affectionate personality – he really loves people. Once he learns to trust his humans and feel secure in his environment, he’ll be an amazing companion!
