Saber (as Corban has renamed her...short for saber tooth tiger !!), has been doing great!! She ate a lot of food today, had fun playing fetch with the bones outside, and slept in Corban's room on her bed.  She has not had any accidents, and has had the greatest demeanor since she arrived here yesterday.

Right now she is sleeping at my feet, after the long walk this evening. She even met some neighbors during the walk around the neighborhood!! She seems happy, and she will continue to flourish with us...I guarantee it!!!

I'm sure you will do fine, especially with the arrival of your new addition soon!

Blessings,
Tanza and family

Emma

I just wanted to give you all an update on Emma. She is the most precious dog!!!!! What a wonderful blessing has been brought into our families life. She is a dream with Bryce, my 4 yr old son, licking, playing, cuddling. She loves to play ball. Any kind, anytime. Her first day home she popped 5 balls. Since then we have found more indistructable balls for her. She made herself at home on the first day. She jumped up into my husband's lap
on the couch and cuddled right in for a night of movies. That evening when we went to bed, Emma helped herself to a spot right between my husband and I and slept there all night. My husband is absolutely in love with her, as we all are. I have never seen such an adaptable dog before, she just fit right in immediately.

We take Emma for a walk everynight after dinner, and she has many trips to the park with my son. Today she has her "new Puppy exam" at my vet to get her heartworm medicine filled. I just want to thank you all for all you do, the love, the time, the comittment to all these beautiful dogs. Your organization is such a blessing, thank God for people like you. After Emma gets settled in her new home, I would like to foster a boxer. This has been one of the best experiences of my life.

Thank you..Thank you..Thank you. May God continue to bless you all.

Blessings, Angela

Barkley

Barkley is just the happiest puppy! Shelby adores her brother, and they play constantly! They are the best of friends, and I could not have asked for two better dogs. They are both perfect and perfect together! I cannot thank you enough for Barlely! He is definitely my little angel! He won't ever leave my side! Everytime I get up to leave the room, he follows me wherever I go! He has also become best friends with my sister's puppy that you met the day that you brought Barkley over! Hoot is only 4 pounds, but she and Barkley play constantly! It's adorable! He's very gentle for how big he is! I just cannot say enough for how wonderful he is! Todd and I are absolutely in love with him in every single way! I've attached some pictures I've taken of him, unfortunately I haven't been able to get one of the four of us yet! I'll make sure I take my camera next time I go to my mom's though, and make sure she gets a good one of all of us that I can send to you! Thank you again so much and hopefully I'll talk to you soon!

Rocco (now Echo)

We love our lil' guy, Echo. He is officially a member of our family. We bring him everywhere with us. We are still working on house training, but he can go all night without waking us up. He loves his little home (crate), but in the morning we let him crawl up and snuggle with us in bed. Now that he has all of his shots, I take him on frequent walks. He gets along with other dogs and people very well! I could keep going, but I will spare you. Overall, we love him!

We have been dropping your organization's name left and right. Hopefully we can get more dogs adopted!

Sluggo

Hi Jennifer,

Our new addition to the family is doing so awesome. We never new how much joy Slugo would bring into our lives. He has been doing so well with his crate training. We took him to the vet on Wednesday and he weighed 27.1 lbs.

Slugo has brought so much life to our home since we adopted him. He is such a bundle of joy. He loves to leap on the couch and just snuggle with his new mommy. He is growing bigger by the day. We just love him so much.

Manning

Manning has been wonderful with our daughter and is a complete joy to have in our house. Thank you for taking such good care of him and nursing him back to health.

We will be taking Manning back for another heartworm test and our vet mentioned that he did not hear a heart murmur (which apparently can be common after a dog has had heart worms) and he felt that was a good sign.

Manning has had an interesting development in his backyard over the last week. We had a mother bunny rabbit give birth in our back yard to 6 kits and he is just beside himself every time he goes out and smells the baby bunnies. Fortunately he hasn't gotten to "meet" them face to face and we escort him out every night to make sure he doesn't go to the nest the mother bunny made.

Thanks again for bringing him over and I'll get some new pictures to you soon.

Fergie

She is absolutely wonderful ! She is so ridiculously perfect I just kept waiting for a "bad side" to come out, but she just doesn't have one. Her routine is tough one: she sits in the rocking chair with Barry until bedtime, she sleeps in her kennel beside my bed and Dually's bed at night, then after going potty in the morning she gets in bed with Baylee to kiss her awake, then goes to work with me. We are fortunate enough to have dog loving friends and family, so she and Dually have gone everywhere with us. My best friend, after spending time with Fergie, wants Wilma soooo bad but can't. She already has "sit" perfected, and is pretty good on "down". I couldn't ask for more, thank you.

Ammo

Well, I guess the first news is that Ammo's name has been changed to "Walter".... :-) Here is a picture of Walter and Tess engaged in a little after-dinner fun; Walter is still under the impression that he should be allowed to share toys. Tess has never been interested in a tennis ball before our new family member joined us... now she is passionate about tennis balls (especially when one is in Walter's mouth)!

He is in great shape and he has made such a smooth
transition into our household...We were surprised to discover that he loves to shower! Natalie opened the shower door the other night and in popped Walter; he stood under the water for a good long time (relatively speaking) and is always ready to wade in again! what a nut....

Dodge

Oh my goodness, Dodge is such an adorable, snuggly, sweetheart! We are all crazy about him already. He has been doing much better than I expected.

The past two mornings he enjoyed meeting all the middle school children at the bus stop in our neighborhood. Needless to say, he was a big hit. He later enjoyed his first walk on the bicycle path along the creek. Lots of new scents to investigate. I am very impressed with how well he walks on a leash. He is so much fun to watch when he gets out in our yard! He is very puppy like in his movements, pouncing at pretend objects, joyful leaps in the air, and of course, the boxer burn at the speed of light, LOL! He's like a little rocket. I feel sorry for the wildlife who come into our yard (and we get quite a few).

By 10:00, he is pretty much tuckered out. He has spent the last two nights sleeping in our bed, cuddled up against me (he's a "spooner"). You are absolutely right though, he does snore like a human! Its very endearing and soft enough as to not be disturbing. At some point this weekend I will be taking him to two nursing homes to visit relatives and to interact with the residents. I am sure it is something both dog and seniors will enjoy.

It looks like the girls will be changing his name. They have begun calling him, "Ziggy", partly because my oldest is a reggae fan (as am I), partly because of how he zigs and zags across our yard, and partly because of the name's meaning: Peaceful Victory.

Thanks again for all you did for Dodge during the time you cared for him, and for allowing us to bring him into our family. He has brought a special light back into our lives.

Peace and happiness, Shirley and family

Aladdin

Everything is great. He is very lovable, full of kisses and loves to play. He is adjusting slowly. Regarding his eating... he has eaten about 2 cups a day rather than the four we expected. we are hoping he will be back to full consumption this week. He is quite attached to Bridgette. Follows her everywhere she goes. Won't even go outside to do his business unless one of us goes with him. He takes his medicine like a champ and we reward him with a Nutro biscuit. In fact he is responding quickly and has already started to learn to "sit" (at least on occasion when he fancies it). He tosses a bit much while he sleeps, but we solved that.... I have to sleep on the couch. :-) As of today he is spending the first day in his puppy home (don't want to call it a cage). He was a bit upset about being put in, but he will adjust I'm sure.

Penny Alice

Penny is doing just fine. She met all the other Cobaugh Boxers these past few days and everything went fine.

She's really a great dog and she keeps me active. Her latest thing is teasing the dogs next door. I was able to figure the microchip thing out and mailed it today. I had the vets office fax her records to me at my sons house.

Penny does very well in the crate while I'm at work. I'm very pleased that Penny and I were able to make a go at it. She's just great joy to be around and I know she will fill the biggest part of the void left by Molly's passing.

Thanks, Barry

Truman

Truman is doing good. Typical accidents for a puppy, but we're working on the knowing the signals for when he has to go. I'm having a hard time working on getting him to accept going in a crate, which makes me feel bad at times but I leave the door open during the day so he knows its not punishment.

Still haven't figured out what he's mixed with, but he's soooo good. I couldn't ask for a better mannerd dog. I emailed Jenifer cause I can't get him to poop in the back yard.. Lol. In due time. I took pictures the other day of him and Chase. Once developed, I will email you a copy.

Elliott

Elliot is doing great! He has been sleeping through the night, and has not given me any trouble when putting him to bed. He loves his walks, and I have been going home at lunch to let him out for a little while to help ease his transition. He has been a good boy when we are around other dogs or people, he is eating well, and doing his business whenever we go for walks. He also is right next to me no matter what I am doing, and his personality is really starting to show. He and I seem to be a good match. Thank you so much for all of your help, everyone with Norcal was so nice, and so helpful. It has been a great experience for me, and hopefully for Elliot too!

Juneau

I just wanted to let everyone at NorCal Boxer Rescue know that Juneau is really enjoying his new forever home. Belle is really enjoying having her little brother to play with outside. She's not so sure about him being inside as he has to learn all the rules she already knows. He quickly learned to sit as soon as he comes in from out side for a treat. Yesterday they had a game of musical chew bones and the beginnings of a game of tug-of-war with the rope toy. His biggest challenge so far seems to be learning which cat of my two likes him and which one doesn't. The other challenge is when the cat wants to play and when she doesn't. She will paw at him and he thinks she wants to play, when in fact she's trying to tell him to go away. He also went for a ride in the car yesterday and didn't get sick. So all in all weare doing well.

I am really pleased that he was able to come live with us. He fits in here very well. Everyone he's met so far thinks he is so cute and friendly. I've attached some pictures I'm taken over the past couple of days. Please pass them on to his foster mom Trudy and let her know that Juneau is doing well. I love him a lot and thank you guys so much for all your help in getting him to me.

Thank you,
Shannon

Bruiser

We renamed Bruiser, Gustave, which means Royal Staff in German. We call him Gus which happens to be Steve's favorite grandfather's name. He's doing better every day. Audra Houghton, our trainer worked wonders with him for two weeks. We still have lessons every Saturday with Gus and Pearl. Since she trained both of them it makes it so much easier. Gus and Pearl are getting along like brother and sister. They even fuss like they are. We really believe that Gus now knows he has a home. We tell him that every day. He's gained about 10 pounds and gotten just a little taller. He weighs 60 now. His coat is shiny and looking good. Our vet, Dr. Deason is very pleased with his progress. He is all boxer. Steve says it is like we have three year old twins. They can be a handful, but it's fun. I will send pictures as soon as I figure out how to do that. I'll have to get one of my "younger friends" to do it for me.

Dozer

Just wanted to let you know that Dozer is AWESOME!!!! He slept with us last night for awhile but then got down and went and got on the couch. We took him over to our friends house last night and he got along great with their dogs, The only problem we have had is the crate I bought for him is WAY TOO SMALL!!!!! It is the 36" crate...long enough but not even close to being tall enough. So back to Petsmart...hmmm Barb is going to go crazy again!! Anyway just want to let you know how he is..pass along the news to Scott and Amy and again we really appreciate the hard work and attention you gave us.

Thanks!! Dawn & Barb

Hannah

Hannah has found her new home! She loves her new brother. All white male (hearing) with lotsa spots! They have a very small house, but their back yard sold me...probably as big as a 4 bedroom house! Hannah just ran and ran and ran...she loves it there! They fell head over heals in love with her, pretty much like everyone does when they see her!

Wilson

He is a doll. He’s a little sad right now – misses his foster
dad. We are spoiling him rotten. He will start his first basis obedience classes Feb 17th. Thank you for allowing us to adopt Wilson, he is already filling the void of loosing Fricka. There will never be another boxer like her, but I know Wilson will become one a kind very quickly.

Xena

Xena is doing fantastic. She is so good! We take her for walks multiple times a day and she loves to play in the dog park. We got her a fluffy bed to sleep on and she seems to really like it. Anytime we are not petting her (which is rare, ha!) she is on her fluffy bed. Loves giving kisses and hugs. Always wants love and attention. She is just as sweet as it gets. No accidents in the house. Doesn't get into anything. I don't crate her at all and she gets free roam in the house. We love her! She is great! Thank you!

Sugar

Sugar had a wonderful Christmas! She got lots of goodies and seemed to really enjoy being part of the festivities. My parents were here, too, and she really took to them! My mom came down with the flu while she was here, so she was in the bed quite a bit, but "Nurse Sugar" kept going upstairs checking on her the whole time. It was cute! She followed my dad around a good bit, too. They left on Wednesday and she barely ate a bite all day. She gets attached very quickly! We are still completely in love. She is just too perfect for our family. I can't imagine life without her!
