Canelo likes a lot of attention and his happy to sit near you on the couch or floor while you watch movies. As of July 14 he is healing up from surgery so his activity has been limited but he takes one long walk and a few shorter ones every day. He walks ahead a little and pulls a bit on the leash but he is very manageable, when he doesn’t feel like walking he just moves real slow but he will get there. He always seems eager to go “out” but sometimes he seems ready to go back as soon as he pees. He does well in the car, in fact he jumps right in on his own. He wants to meet other dogs but he hasn’t chased birds or squirrels yet. Because of his oral surgery we haven’t tested chew toys or balls yet, he has made no attempt to chew shoes or stuff around the house.
We haven’t been able to bath him fully yet but he allows me to give him regular sponge baths. He stands next to tub, isn’t scared of shower, even lets me rub his paws clean. He seems “interested” in the shower and has even tried to get into the tub a couple times so maybe he is used to water. He doesn’t seem to like bananas by themselves, but he loves the soft peanut butter and banana treats we got him. He takes the treats gently from my fingers or cupped hand. He does eat his meals too quickly so we break his meals into 3 small portions and he does much better.
