Many of you have followed Harvey’s story since his arrival in March. Obviously Harvey had a really tough spell in his life at a minimum but we don’t know his full history. You would never guess it looking at him now though! Harvey is a classic boxer boy. Bouncing/bucking in response to a hello in the morning and ready to jet out of his crate to kill a favorite toy by grabbing it and shaking it before going out to do his business. Then it’s time to do his zoomies around the yard! Harvey will play fetch with most any ball, but particularly loves his tough-dog squeaky ball and lamb chop plush toys. Harvey can face wrestle with the best of them and will spend an hour, or more, with foster sister, Mabel, running around the yard and goofing off.
Harvey loves his walks and we are currently working his leash manners. Harvey knows sit, not to jump up, to wait at the door for permission to exit or enter, and for food bowls to be put down/picked up. Harvey is quiet in his crate at night but really prefers to be close to his people during the day or at least have a good distraction while crated.
Harvey will need to be in a home without small pets. Harvey has not met any kids but we suspect would do well with older children.
March 11th, 2025
Harvey was saved weighing in at only 26 pounds, severely anemic and battling multiple, but treatable, infections. Harvey is now safe, in a wonderful foster home that will care for him as he gets healthier and puts on some weight.
His current foster mom said he is doing well, “mostly eating and sleeping, but has also shown interest in a lamb chop toy today.”
