Meet Howie
Hey there! I'm Howie, and I'm one hip fella.
My foster mom says I am one of the best Boxers she has ever fostered....I'm house trained, sleep through the night, don't chew things, only bark when playing (it's because I can't join in with them) AND I like cats and people a LOT. Yep, I'm darn near perfect! In fact, I was all excited about getting my own forever home but then I found out that I needed to have surgery first.
Apparently I was born with a slight physical defect - I don't have the sockets for the joints in my hips. Wow, that explains a lot! I may look like your average care free Boxer, but in reality, I live it a great deal of pain. My back legs have not fully developed because of the missing sockets, and I really need this surgery to help me develop some muscles and be able to play like my other furry friends. But they say the surgery is expensive (almost $2000). YIKES! So, I know that we just met and all, but if there is any way that you can help me raise some money for a couple of new sockets, I would be oh so grateful.
I won't let you down.
Peace out,
Howie
Our Mission
NorCal Boxer Rescue provides a temporary sanctuary for Boxers in need throughout California. Boxers come to us from shelters and from owners who are no longer able to care for them. We provide these animals with veterinary care, spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, a microchip, a temporary foster home at a private residence, lots of love, and placement into a carefully screened home forever.
NCBR is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is run entirely by a dedicated group of volunteers who have an unmatched love for preserving this wonderful breed. If you have a heart for animals, we invite you get involved in whatever capacity you can.
What you can do to help:
Foster or Sponsor a boxer in rescue, Make a Donation, Adopt a boxer in need!
