Willie – February 2019

Willie found his fur-ever home with Glenda and Steve M.

Willie Nelson is our third NCBR Boxer. We started looking for another Boxer a few months after losing our sweet Kaeli girl last summer. Finding just the right dog to fit in with our resident fur kid Reagan was no easy task, but she bonded instantly with Willie.  He was very insecure at first and suffered from extreme separation anxiety. But with love and patience, he has blossomed into a silly Boxer boy who make us laugh every day and is the sweetest love bug. He has overcome most of his separation anxiety and learned the “house rules” quickly. He surprised me at how quickly he learned … and how stubborn he can be about some things, like sitting when I ask him. He eventually gets around to sitting, but only after a stare down by mom!  He doesn’t greet us with the typical Boxer wiggle butt, he “prances” on three legs holding his right paw up .. or when really excited, leaps off the floor with all fours like a jack rabbit. We are in love with this crazy Boxer boy and so happy that NCBR rescued him and fostered him so we could have this special boy in our lives. Thank you to all at NCBR !
