Otis – August, 2014

Otis

It is with great sadness that I share the passing of another NCBR alumni. Otis crossed the Rainbow Bridge on August 29th 2014 surrounded by his loving family.

Otis came to us from NCBR in March of 2004. Otis was our first Boxer. All I can say is he was the best dog a family could have. Otis brought so much joy to our family & friends. His allergies that he had when we first picked him up went away and he remained very healthy.

He was the star of many holidays, enjoyed camping, walks, going to the dog park and visiting the fire house. He took his grand parents (Rex & Margot) for 3 walks daily. He was such a great traveler and enjoyed the peaceful naps to and from each place we traveled. He loved to follow his dad (me) around. He had the sweetest temperament and would melt everyone’s heart that encountered him.

May 2014 Otis was diagnosed with Lymphoma. The cancer ultimately got the best of him. We will miss his wiggle butt and companionship.

Otis is now running at the Rainbow Bridge. He has reunited with Annie, Gizmo and is meeting many more friends for the very first time! We are so blessed to have spent so many years with a wonderful guy.

I want to say thank you Jennifer Brennan, Marlene Gardner and to Nor Cal Boxer Rescue for rescuing him and giving him a chance. Without Nor Cal Boxer Rescue I know we would not have had 10 plus years with Otis and he would have not have had a life at all. It was our privilege and honor to adopt him and have him as a member of our family.

Our family also made a donation in memory of Otis. When the time is right, I will look for a new Boxer at NC Boxer Rescue.
