Duke – July, 2017

Duke

So hard to write this. We had the honor and privilege to share our lives with Duke. He was such a joy. Eighty lbs of solid muscle that was sure he was a lap dog. In his younger years, he loved to run and go for hikes. As the years went by he enjoyed hanging out and taking naps. He was a great traveler and visited many different places with us, always ready for the next adventure. He was the consummate gentleman unless someone left something supper yummy smelling in the trash, then he and is fur-sister would execute a late night garbage can raid.

“When our youngest daughter was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes, Duke started sleeping in her room, he just knew something was different and kept a close eye on her. He was our best friend, confidant, counselor, and comedian. Always there with his Boxer butt wiggles or calm soulful eyes. Duke passed over the Rainbow Bridge peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He lived a long Boxer life and we are so glad he lived it with us. He will be greatly missed.
