Reuben – August, 2017

Poor Reuben had signs of a neuromuscular disease when we saved him from the shelter, but we wanted to give him the best chance possible so we had a specialist evaluate him. Dr. Wooden said that Reuben had already lost the ability to walk and had even deteriorated since we first got him from the shelter. He also said that Reuben would progressively and quickly lose more muscle. Rather than subject Reuben to any more pain, and based on Dr Wooden’s recommendation, we helped him cross the Rainbow Bridge. We’re so sorry we couldn’t give you the life you deserved, Reuben. May you run fast and free across the Rainbow Bridge and meet all of your new brother and sisters who are waiting there for you.
