Louie is a sweet, loyal boy with so much love to give. He can be a little slow to warm up in new situations, but once he feels safe and comfortable, his affectionate and devoted personality really shines. Louie loves his people and wants nothing more than to be part of a family.

He enjoys going for walks and has been doing a wonderful job exploring his new surroundings and learning that new experiences don’t have to be scary. Louie is obedient, eager to please, housebroken, and crate trained. He is also food and treat motivated, which makes working with him a breeze! He already knows sit, down, shake, stay, “go lay down,” and kennel.

Louie has done wonderfully with his 14- and 11-year-old human sisters and enjoys being part of the family. He isn’t particularly interested in toys, although he does appreciate a good bone from time to time. And while furniture is off-limits in his current foster home, we have a feeling Louie would be more than happy to curl up next to his person for a good movie if given the invitation.

Around the house, Louie is an easygoing companion. He loves a good nap, is perfectly content relaxing inside or outside, and understands when his people are busy and it’s time to settle. He is comfortable in his crate and remains calm when crated in the living room. At night, he sleeps soundly in his own bed at the foot of his foster family’s bed.

Louie would thrive in a quieter home with consistency and less coming and going, where he can settle into a routine and build trust at his own pace. In return, his family will get a well-behaved, loving and deeply loyal companion who simply wants to belong.

Above all, Louie is looking for companionship and a person, or people, he can call his own. Once you earn this sweet boy’s trust, you’ll have a devoted friend by your side.
